Not much to say today

Happy August to you all!
Ok, so I am posting just to show off more pics of stuff I've worked on in the last couple of days. Hope everyone is well.
Word of the day: Morel. Did you all know it is not just a mushroom but a color. Definition by phrontistery is "dark coloured horse: blackish colour". Interesting! I never knew. I'm learning more about color and that is what I found today!
Comment me, post something so I know who's alive out there!!!
While I'm at it, my friend Lisa has a new album out. Her band is "hundreds and thousands". Music style is folk and she has an amazing voice! Totally digging the album! Find her on ReverbNation

Two Days in a Row?

Ok, my passion is truly starting to become all consuming in my brain. I just get a bug to make a card at all different times of day and night. I wake up and the brain starts thinking of colors and textures to put together. I made 3 cards today that I am quite proud of  (and one I'm just so-so on) and look forward to you seeing....so without further ado....

Has it been that long?

I just looked at my blog because I wanted to change up my page and realized it has been 4 months since I last blogged. So much has changed since then! I have made a gazillion more cards, gotten a puppy, gone to the arboretum, gone to an all day crop, had an annual physical, taken trips to Whole Foods, cooked/shared/eaten many a good meal, spent time with great friends, survived torrential rainfalls, had a giant flood in the town, gone to my favorite music festival (and survived two tornadoes while there). Sheesh. Sorry loyal followers! I do have to work today otherwise I could spend the day and write pages about what's been going on, but that above is a fairly good synopsis, although I am certain I missed something. Here for you today is a lovely selection of what I have been working on. I love textures, layers, dimension, and color on a card. I look at cards in the store and they seem so disappointing, and when I receive those disappointing cards in the mail, I sometimes cringe. Sad but true. I am spoiled by making my own cards. Someday they will make me millions :) Ok, maybe not millions, but enough to quit my day job! In the meantime....wait for the big word of the day....philomath....(a lover of learning)...that's me. I am debating going back to school for more special torture in the form of a PhD in psychology. We shall see. I am taking a couple more months to think about it, and while I do, I will be blissed out making plenty of cards. One love.

Spring is Springy with Scrap Ideas!

So, here we are already four weeks into March and nearly a week into spring. I have started to feel my step perk up and the light is coming back into my eyes. Winter is so difficult for me. I feel lackluster and sad. Finally those feelings are beginning to go away. The last few months have been transforming for me, and I think my family too. We are making the conversion to all organic foods, and are beginning to break into health products and cleaning products. People continue to ask me why? Why this change? Well, it's simple. We all feel so much healthier after beginning to consume and use these products. We finally got to go to Whole Foods Market and absolutely loved it. It is our goal to get there at least once a month to grocery shop. People seem to think that its so costly to eat organic foods. Yes, it may cost a bit more, but I only got bronchitis once this winter instead of literally 5 times. So the cost to health ratio is far better in the long run! Life is good. Papercrafting is good too. I have been very busy with papercrafting since graduation. I try to get into my "studio" at least 3-4 days a week and get something done, even if it is just noodling ideas around. I have dubbed this year the year of transformation and that is what it's been so far. I just need to get better about blogging it all.

Since my blogger title is Lisa's Logophile, I suppose I should leave you with an amazing new word to learn and use. Here it is: TUROPHILE. Funny sounding word, isn't it. It means cheese lover. Yes, I am a lover of cheese. One of my favorite parts about the trips to Whole Foods Market is all the cheese sampling. Mmmm, nothing like the taste and texture of an amazing and sharp cheese! No more wimpy american cheese for me!

Thanks for reading!

I'm Back!

Hello all! It has been a very busy few months in our home. I am finished with my Master's Degree and am now on a quest for a full time job. I had a friend ask me for some non traditional Christmas cards and so I have been busy making cards this past month and want to share a few with you! Unfortunately my daughter had the camera with her and these were taken on my phone so the colors do not come through as vividly as I would have liked.
My cards are on display and for sale at Petal Arts on Jefferson Street in Hanover. I will have new ones at the shop very soon! Stop in and see my friend Tim. He is a very gifted painter and has some lovely handmade items in his shop. He is open every weekend this winter. Even if the sign says closed, knock on his house door next door and he would be happy to open up!
Have a great day!

Simon Says Stamp

I know I haven't posted in a very long time, but I just read a challenge on Karens blog about Simon Says Stamp. I was interested so I looked around at their site for a bit. I love love love the new Basic Grey 6x6 Lemonade Paper Pad. Those 36 pages are beautiful. If you want a chance to win go to http://simonsaysstampblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/chatter-from-cha-orlando-summer-2009.html

I have not been able to stamp very much with my new job and full time school, but I will be off school for 4 weeks very soon, so I am hoping to catch up on some cardmaking then.
I can't wait!!

Time of Love and Loss

Hello fellow bloggers,
What a long strange trip it has been!  Yeah, I needed to put that Grateful Dead reference in there...their music soothes the weary soul.  My grandma passed away almost two weeks ago, so I have been dealing with that.  It has been a stressful time for my family.  Couple that with wrapping up one job and starting a new one.  I am a giant bundle of nerves and stress.  I've had no time to really do any cards, but I will post some that I did just a couple of weeks ago!  Please keep our family in prayer for healing.  Thank you and enjoy
